Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 2026
CoachCarter ("we", "us", "our") operates a driving school management platform used by multiple driving schools across the UK. These terms and conditions govern your use of the CoachCarter platform and the services provided through it. By creating an account, booking a lesson, or purchasing a package, you agree to these terms.
1. About us
CoachCarter is a driving school platform operated by Fraser Carter. The platform provides lesson booking, learner progress tracking, and payment processing to driving schools and their learners. For queries, contact us at: fraser@coachcarter.uk
2. Platform and services
The CoachCarter platform connects learner drivers with driving schools and their instructors. Your driving school uses our platform to manage bookings, track progress, and process payments. While you interact with CoachCarter's technology, the driving tuition itself is delivered by your chosen driving school and its instructors.
3. Bookings and payments
- Lessons must be paid for in advance via the platform's online booking system.
- Bulk packages and structured programmes (such as the Test Ready Guarantee) require full payment upfront.
- Payments are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your card details.
- Prices are as displayed on the platform and are set by your driving school. Prices are subject to change, but changes will not affect already-purchased packages.
4. Cancellations and rescheduling
- You may cancel or reschedule a lesson with at least 48 hours' notice at no charge. If lesson credit was used, that credit will be returned to your balance.
- Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice may result in the lesson credit being forfeited.
- If your driving school must cancel a lesson, a rescheduled lesson will be offered at no additional cost.
5. Bulk hour packages
- Bulk packages are non-refundable once lessons have commenced.
- Existing Lesson Credit remains valid for eligible bookings with the instructor it belongs to.
- Packages are non-transferable to another person.
- Lesson cancellations with sufficient notice normally return lesson value as Lesson Credit, not as a cash refund.
- Where a cash or original-payment-method refund is approved as an exception, it will be returned to the original payment method where possible. Stripe processing fees from the original transaction are not returned by Stripe and will be deducted from the refunded amount.
- Partial refunds may be used where only part of a payment is being refunded. Approved Stripe refunds normally take 5-10 days to appear on the customer's account and can only be returned to the original payment method, not to a different card or bank account.
- If an approved Stripe refund cannot be completed through the original payment method, CoachCarter may handle the refund manually by bank transfer as a last-resort operator process. This is not a learner self-service refund option.
6. Test Ready Guarantee programme
- The Test Ready Guarantee covers the 18-week structured programme as described on the platform.
- To qualify for continued lessons under the guarantee, the learner must attend all scheduled sessions and follow instructor guidance throughout the programme.
- The guarantee applies to the practical driving test. It does not cover the theory test.
- Test Fail Cover add-ons (3rd attempt, 4th attempt, Lifetime) extend the guarantee as described at the point of purchase.
- The Test Ready Guarantee is non-refundable once the programme has commenced.
7. Learner responsibilities
- You must hold a valid provisional driving licence for the vehicle category being learned.
- You must inform your driving school of any medical conditions or DVLA notifications that may affect your ability to drive.
- You are expected to attend lessons punctually. Late arrival may result in a shortened lesson.
8. Conduct
Your driving school reserves the right to refuse or terminate tuition where a learner's behaviour is deemed unsafe, abusive or inappropriate. In such cases, a refund may be offered at the driving school's discretion for unused lessons.
9. Liability
Driving schools on the CoachCarter platform carry appropriate insurance for driving tuition. We are not liable for any indirect losses arising from delays to test bookings or changes in DVSA test availability beyond our control.
10. Your data and privacy
We take your privacy seriously. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal data under UK GDPR.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page. We will notify you of significant changes via email if you have an account. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
